The REACT Lab advances sustainable chemical processes through the integration of high-throughput experimentation, detailed kinetic modeling, and advanced analytical methods. Our work focuses on complex, multiphase, and multiscale reaction systems relevant to plastic waste recycling, bio-based feedstock valorization, and environmental remediation.

Our experimental platform spans micro- to bench-scale reactors and is closely integrated with stochastic and microkinetic modeling to investigate reaction pathways and product evolution. Using advanced analytical tools—including comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC×GC) and tandem time-of-flight mass spectrometry—we capture the evolution of complex product mixtures with molecular-level resolution. These insights guide catalyst and reaction media selection for processes such as pyrolysis and solvolysis of mixed plastic wastes, upgrading of bio-based feedstock, and remediation of persistent environmental contaminants. This knowledge ultimately supports the design of modular, sustainable chemical technologies.
